I know that I have not posted in a long time, but we actually haven't been up to anything too exciting. The school year is coming to an end. Michael and Zachary are both doing very well. Michael got an award for Top Reader and Zachary got an award for Imagination Station, this computer program they do. Michael has been getting all A's and B's. Zachary really doesn't get grades, just +. Zac's teacher is very impressed with his reading. He can take almost any word and sound it out. Pretty good for a kid that started school a year earlier than he should have. He just got awarded a field trip for being in the top 5 in his class for their accelerated reader program. Michael gives us trouble doing his homework. He really doesn't like to do it. It takes FOREVER!!! Hope he matures by next year.
Michael is almost finished with Spring soccer. Zac started it, but his coach thought he was "too little" and didn't want him to play games. I pulled him out. I can't believe how competitive little kids sports have gotten. He is 5 years old. What does it matter? It is soccer, not rocket science. You run and kick a ball. I don't think I will sign him up until next spring. Then he will be "older" and they won't be able to say anything!!! It is really hard anyway trying to juggle everything. We have tamburitzans that will now be on Monday, then Michael has soccer practice one day a week and games on Sunday. Put the second kid in, 2 days of practice plus tammies. By the time Luka gets older, we will be running 7 days a week!!
Michael is doing really good at soccer. His coach this year is really impressed. He is constantly calling out his name at the games telling him how good he is doing. It is nice for Michael to get that recognition. I am glad to see that the years that we have invested are finally paying off. This is what he has wanted to do and now he is starting to mature and show that he really does like it.
Luka is growing so big. He is not much smaller than Zac. They basically just share clothes. He is 40 1/2 inches tall. He is very smart and loves to tell stories. He has such an imaginations. There isn't too much that he doesn't know. He still likes to be the baby. I think he will play that as long as he can. He is very good when he is alone. Each one of them are. When they are together, look out. They don't listen and they are wild!! What do I want for 3 boys right? Keeps me busy.
The other day we took them to see the mineral spring at Raccoon Park. They were mad because I wouldn't let them go play on the slippery rocks. So Michael found this trail that he wanted to take back instead of the one we came up. So, to please him I went because Mike didn't want to. After hiking about a mile in sandles with about a 2" heels on a dirt path on a cliff, I realized, we were just going deeper and deeper in the woods. I called Mike and confirmed with the compass that we were heading in the wrong direction. I had now walked too far to turn around. Michael was so cute, killing spiders to protect me and trying to hold my hand when there were steep hills. He was so impressed that I was jumping across streams and climbing across trees. He doesn't realize I grew up in the woods, lol. After another half mile, the trail turned and we headed in the right direction. Finally, we made it to the car. It was interesting to say the least. I told Mike that was something that he should've done, not me. He was too worried about poison ivy. Please, I was more worried about snakes and falling off the cliff!!! What we do for our kids!! At least we always will have the memory of that trip.
I have pictures of the dogs on here too. Luka LOVES the dogs. Especially Zore. I think it is his size. He is almost 10 years old now, so I decided to get some pics on here. He is so over weight from the kids feeding him and him steeling all of their food. He weighs almost 100lbs. He is such a good dog. Zeke is a nut. His energy matches the kids'. He loves to lay on them, but he is so hyper!
Hope everyone has a nice Memorial Day Weekend!!
